Depois de ter sofrido uma fratura na mão direita, logo no primeiro treino após a paralisação das atividades presenciais, o jovem atleta tricolor iniciou seu processo de recuperação no departamento médico tricolor, entretanto sem previsão de volta. Mas parece que Marcelo já está recuperado e já retornou aos treinos com bola. Ele mesmo fez uma postagem celebrando este momento, confira:

Marcelo Pitaluga que foi alvo de interesse do Liverpool-ENG – como foi confirmado pela nossa reportagem. O clube entrou em contato direto com a família e com o jogador porque ele possui passaporte europeu. Ainda não chegaram propostas oficiais.
Marcelo já treina com o elenco principal desde 2019, enquanto atua pelo sub-20 do clube. Quando Muriel, goleiro titular, sofreu uma lesão no fim do ano passado, ele foi relacionado para dois jogos – entretanto, não chegou a estrear profissionalmente. O goleiro foi convocado para o mundial sub-17 do ano passado, em que a seleção brasileira levou o caneco e também, foi titular na Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior pelo Flu, em janeiro.
