O técnico Odair Hellmann já desembarcou nos Emirados Árabes Unidos e logo em seguida, já foi apresentado oficialmente no seu novo clube, o Al-Wasl. Ao lado de seu auxiliar, Mauricio Dulac, a dupla já posou com a camisa da equipe de Dubai.
Para ajudar na sua adaptação ao seu novo clube, o Al-Wasl conta com alguns brasileiros em seu elenco. O lateral esquerdo Natan Felipe, de 20 anos, que deixou o Maringá em 2018 e até hoje, defende o time. O meia Matheus, de 20 anos, ex-Nacional de São Paulo, também é mais um que deixou cedo o país para se aventurar no mundo árabe.
O camisa 10 e principal nome do time no campeonato é o meia Fábio Lima, de 27 anos e que desde 2015 defende o clube. Com passagens por Vasco e Atlético-GO, seu último time no Brasil, o jogador já tem quatro gols e duas assistências em oito jogos disputados e é considerado um ídolo no Al-Wasl, onde atuou por seis temporadas e tem 184 jogos e 132 gols marcados ao todo

Outros nomes são o também meia Ronaldo Mendes, de 28 anos, bastante rodado em clubes como Santos, Paraná, CRB, CSA, ABC, Criciúma, Gurani, Comercial-AL. Aos 28 anos, desde 2016 está no futebol árabe.
