O Flu vai encarar o Flamengo, pelas qaurtas-de-final do Brasileirão sub-20. Após vencer seu último compromisso, diante do Ceará, a molecada finalizou a primeira fase da competição em terceiro lugar e, com isso, vai encarar o sexto lugar, conquistado pelo rival. Nesta fase, os quatro primeiros encaram os quatro últimos, sendo o melhor colocado encarando o pior: Atlético-MG (1°) encara o Palmeiras (8°); o CAP (2°) encara o São Paulo (7°) e, por fim, o Corinthians (4°) encara o Grêmio (5°).
O primeiro compromisso será na Gávea, na próxima segunda (28), às 15h, e o jogo de volta será no Berço do Futebol, dia, dia 04 de janeiro, também às 15h.

O Flu terminou a primeira fase com 61% de aproveitamento. Nesta fase, todos se enfrentavam, em turno único, e os oito melhores avançariam às quartas. Jogando em casa e já garantido nas quartas de final, o Fluminense tomou as rédeas do clássico na etapa inicial. Logo aos quatro minutos, Wallace recebeu lançamento dentro da área, limpou o goleiro, bateu para gol, mas viu Milani salvar o Rubro-Negro quase em cima da linha. Na sequência, Samuel e Gabriel Teixeira também assustaram para o Flu. A primeira tentativa passou perto e a segunda parou em boa defesa de Pedro.
A dupla tricolor voltou a aparecer na marca dos 25. Em contra-ataque fatal, Gabriel Teixeira saiu em velocidade e tocou para Samuel dominar e bater para o fundo das redes: 1 a 0. O Fluminense ainda teve a chance do segundo com Miguel, mas novamente Pedro evitou o gol. A resposta do Fla veio com Lázaro, em cobrança de escanteio que carimbou o travessão, aos 28. A partir daí o duelo perdeu intensidade. Até que, já aos 44 minutos, Ramon recebeu na esquerda e cruzou na medida para Rodrigo Muniz empatar a partida para o Flamengo.
O duelo voltou mais equilibrado para o segundo tempo. Rodrigo Muniz e Thiaguinho arriscaram para o Rubro-Negro, enquanto Gabriel Teixeira criou duas oportunidades para o Flu. Mas foi só. Já no último lance do jogo, o Tricolor assustou em cobrança de falta de Wallace, mas Pedro garantiu mais um ponto para o Flamengo, que voltou para zona de classificação para a próxima fase.
