Depois de mais ou menos um mês de espera, chegou a hora das oitavas de final da Copa Libertadores da América. Lembro-me como se fosse hoje da época do sorteio desta fase da competição. Pois bem, hoje a coisa está bem diferente, e em tese, do que aquele 22 de maio (data do sorteio para o jogo de hoje). Diria que o nosso “possível” favoritismo está muito mais pelo fato de poder decidir em casa do que qualquer outra coisa. Isso me lembra e me preocupa muito a Libertadores de 2011 que também, segundo todos, sobrávamos (favorito declarado!) na fase das oitavas. Na época enfrentamos Olympia do Paraguai ganhamos e bem a primeira partida em casa, por 3 a 1 e perdemos a segunda lá de 3 a 0, numa das piores e covardes atuações de toda a nossa história, uma proeza do Sr. Enderson Moreira, técnico (?)na época. “Sobramos”. Desta feita, o Fluminense navegava em águas calmas, não tínhamos até em então nenhum problema sério de contusão, enfim estava tudo às mil maravilhas. Um mês depois estamos cheios deles, o que nos dificulta muito. Sem falar de outras coisas que vêm me incomodando, do tipo más atuações por exemplo.
Embora tenha viajado com o time, Fred dificilmente terá condição de entrar na partida, um desfalque importantíssimo, não só como centro- avante, mas também como líder do time em campo. André Hernandes seu substituto está fazendo uma força danada para ter condição de jogo. O mesmo acontece com o John Kennedy. que foi como terceira opção. Um batismo de fogo sem dúvida nenhuma.
Sobre o nosso adversário, Cerro Porteño: a imprensa local aposta nas contratações recentes que a equipe fez para esta fase da competição que, se não estou enganado, foram oito. Não temos conhecimento de quem são e quais qualidades possuem ou não e o que podem render em campo. Certeza eu só tenho de duas coisas: nos primeiros vinte minutos ou um pouco mais que isso, no primeiro tempo eles virão com tudo para cima da gente, o que é mais que natural já que precisam do resultado de qualquer maneira.
