Fábio chega ao Fluminense com a expectativa de melhorar o desempenho da equipe nos pênaltis

O Fluminense acertou a contratação do goleiro Fábio, ídolo do Cruzeiro e um dos grandes nomes do futebol brasileiro neste século. O jogador de 41 anos foi anunciado na noite de ontem (19/01) e deve ser integrado ao elenco Tricolor já nos próximos dias. Fábio chega com a reputação de ser um renomado goleiro, líder em campo e especialista em defender pênaltis. O bom desempenho nas penalidades, aliás, é um dos aspectos que mais animam a torcida Tricolor.
Após uma trajetória das mais vitoriosas da história do Cruzeiro, o goleiro Fábio se despediu do clube com 976 jogos disputados e 11 títulos. Muitas das conquistas da raposa tiveram grandes contribuições do arqueiro que defenderá o Fluminense em 2022. Nesse sentido, Fábio se destacou por ser um jogador decisivo no gol e um pegador de pênaltis nato.

A especialidade de Fábio nas penalidades vem sendo um tormento para o Flu nos últimos anos. Somente no ano passado, o clube cometeu 19 pênaltis e 18 balançaram a meta Tricolor. Segundo levantamento feito pelo historiador João Boltshauser, o número de pênaltis cometidos foi o maior do clube neste século. Em compensação, o baixo número de defesas exemplifica a dificuldade dos goleiros do elenco Tricolor para defender pênaltis. Na última temporada pelo Cruzeiro, por exemplo, Fábio foi desafiado 15 vezes pelos cobradores e levou a melhor em três oportunidades.
O site Ge fez um levantamento sobre o desempenho do goleiro nas cobranças de pênaltis nos últimos 10 anos. Nesse sentido, desde 2012, Fábio esteve envolvido em 100 cobranças de pênaltis, seja no tempo regulamentar ou em disputas de pênaltis. O goleiro defendeu 22 cobranças, viu 11 batidas acertarem a trave ou irem para longe do gol e sofreu 67 gols. Os números representam uma taxa de 33% de aproveitamento nos pênaltis. Das 22 defesas, duas aconteceram contra o próprio Fluminense, uma em batida de Fred e outra sendo cobrada por João Pedro. Ao todo em sua passagem de 17 anos pelo Cruzeiro, Fábio possui 34 defesas de pênaltis em seu currículo.
Fábio foi o oitavo reforço anunciado oficialmente pelo Time de Guerreiros para a temporada 2022. No Flu, o experiente goleiro terá a concorrência do titular da última temporada Marcos Felipe e dos até então suplentes, Muriel, Pedro Rangel e Gustavo Ramalho. O Fluminense faz sua estreia na temporada no dia 27 de janeiro, às 21h, contra o Bangu no Estádio Luso Brasileiro, na Ilha do Governador. A partida é válida pela primeira rodada da Taça Guanabara.
