Gramado do Maracanã entra em reforma
Logo após a partida entre Fluminense e Atlético-GO na noite de ontem no Maracanã, pelo duelo de ida da quarta fase da Copa do Brasil, o estádio “entrou em reforma”. Os funcionários da “Greenleaf”, empresa contratada pela gestão conjunta de Flamengo e Fluminense, entraram em campo para iniciar a troca do gramado. O estádio vai ficar sem receber jogos pelos próximos 11 dias.
O campo do Maracanã vinha sendo alvo de críticas nas últimas semanas, principalmente pelo lado do Flamengo, que expôs a insatisfação publicamente. Diego e Marcos Braz, vice-presidente de futebol rubro-negro, não pouparam reclamações logo após a vitória por 2 a 1 sobre o Fortaleza no início do mês. o jogador não poupou críticas ao gramado e o dirigente classificou como “pior gramado do Brasil”. No Fluminense não houve queixas públicas, mas internamente também há insatisfação.
O Maracanã passou por um procedimento parecido durante o período sem jogos no início da pandemia de Covid-19 no Brasil. Na época, foi trocada só a grama do setor Norte, onde a iluminação natural não é a adequada de março a setembro. O jornal “O Globo” chegou a revelar um debate dos administradores sobre repetir o método no setor Sul, mas a postura mais radical, atingindo a maioria do campo, foi vista internamente como a única viável até o fim da temporada

Recentemente, o presidente rubro-negro Rodolfo Landim condicionou o gramado ruim ao número de jogos no local. Após a reforma do campo, o estádio reabrirá no dia 28 de setembro com o Fluminense, que vai receber o Coritiba às 20h, pelo Campeonato Brasileiro. Já o Flamengo retorna ao palco no dia 30, às 21h30, contra o Independiente del Valle, do Equador, pela fase de grupos da Libertadores.
