Apesar de ainda não ter a chance de assumir de vez a vaga na meiúca titular – onde briga com Cazares e Nene – Ganso vem mostrando um melhor futebol e quando teve as chances se mostrou importante para o elenco tricolor.
E a comissão técnica tem essa mesma avaliação e entende que o camisa 10 será importante para o decorrer da temporada no Flu. Com pelo menos mais 3 competições pela frente (Libertadores, Copa do Brasil e Brasileirão), o Fluminense terá muitos jogos e, nem sempre, o intervalo entre eles será o mais indicado para recuperação física dos atletas. E isso traz consigo a importância de ter um elenco mais recheado de opções. Ganso, sem dúvidas, é tido como uma das mais importantes peças do elenco, não só como opção no banco, mas para poder começar alguns jogos ao longo da temporada.
O Santos intenciona, a princípio, uma composição com o Flu onde o tricolor libere o atleta gratuitamente e ainda arque com parte de seus vencimentos. Em crise financeira, o time do litoral paulista não tem como garantir os vencimentos totais do atleta e espera uma ajuda tricolor. Já pelo lado do Flu, dificilmente o atleta seria liberado nesses moldes. As conversas são intermediadas por Giuseppe Dioguardi, que cuida da carreira do jogador, e que terá a missão de convencer o Fluminense a libera-lo.
