O placar de 1×0 para o Grêmio fora de casa abriu o alerta na cabeça de Marcão que na coletiva pós-jogo falou sobre as variações no estilo de jogo da equipe e as possíveis vaias da torcida na próxima partida no Maracanã.

Não iríamos tirar o Cazares de dentro para essa marcação, mantivemos ele naquele espaço por dentro e colocamos os três volantes para fazer esse balanço e tirar essa velocidade e esse ímpeto do Grêmio que joga muito bem pelo lado com as suas duas linhas. Então a gente imaginou aproveitar o momento do Cazares, empurrar um pouquinho mais o Luiz para frente junto com o John (Kennedy) para criar essas situações de velocidade contra a linha do Grêmio que em alguns jogos se colocou muito alta, quebrando essa linha e a gente queria uma estrutura muito forte ali na frente para roubar essa bola e aproveitar as chances. Para a próxima partida precisamos analisar bem o que a gente quer, vamos ver o melhor o momento, quem está bem, saudável e a melhor estrutura pois vamos enfrentar um grande adversário que é o Palmeiras”.
