Marcelo Pitaluga foi anunciado pelo Liverpool; goleiro treinará com Alisson e todo o elenco principal
O jovem goleiro de 17 anos revelado em Xerém, Marcelo Pitaluga, foi anunciado de forma oficial pelo Liverpool nesta quinta-feira. O valor da venda não foi revelado, entretanto especula-se que a transação girou em torno de 2 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 13 milhões), já contando bônus e aditivos de contrato.
Campeão mundial sub-17 com a seleção brasileira no ano passado, Marcelo assinou com o clube inglês por três temporadas e treinará juntamente com o goleiro Alisson e todo o restante do grupo principal, no CT de Melwood.
John Achterbert – treinador de goleiros do Liverpool – afirmou ao site oficial do clube que o primeiro contato com o ex-goleiro tricolor foi na Copa do Mundo sub-17 e já havia visto potencial no atleta:

– Eu o vi pela primeira vez na seleção na Copa do Mundo. E ele estava na seleção mesmo sendo um ano mais novo que o resto do time, então você acha que vale a pena dar uma olhada porque normalmente você tem dois goleiros da mesma idade.
