A CBF divulgou nota, hoje a tarde, a respeito da situação dos clubes brasileiros que foram apontados com irregularidades, nas inscrições para as competições geridas pela Conmebol. Ao todo oito clubes brasileiros foram apontados com esses erros. Além do Flu, São Paulo, Atlético-MG, Botafogo, Santos, Corinthians e Chapecoense.
De acordo com a entidade máxima do futebol brasileiro, a responsabilidade pela questão foi um ato administrativo e que o problema pode ter sua origem no sistema COMET.

“A CBF informa que as listas de inscrição das equipes brasileiras na Copa Libertadores e Copa Sul-Americana foram recebidas dos clubes, assinadas e encaminhadas à Conmebol dentro dos prazos estabelecidos em regulamento.
O que está em apuração junto à Conmebol é um possível erro de autenticação no sistema Comet, durante a realização de uma das etapas de homologação do processo, o que de forma alguma configura irregularidade na inscrição das equipes. Trata-se de eventual falha administrativa, que, se muito, pode resultar em aplicação de multa.
A CBF está investigando as causas dessa possível situação e fornecendo os esclarecimentos necessários aos clubes envolvidos e à entidade sul-americana.”
