O caminho do Flu até a estreia na Pré-Libertadores

Após passar oito anos sem disputar a Copa Libertadores, jejum quebrado na temporada 2020, o Fluminense jogará a competição pelo segundo ano consecutivo. O Tricolor das Laranjeiras conseguiu a classificação para a edição de número 63 da competição após terminar na sétima colocação no Brasileirão 2021. A posição garantiu vaga na fase Pré-Libertadores da maior competição de clubes do continente. No dia 22 de fevereiro, o Flu fará sua estreia contra o Millonarios, da Colômbia, iniciando sua caminhada na temporada 2022. O jogo de volta está marcado para o dia 01 de março – a princípio em São Januário.
Até lá, e antes de iniciar a busca de uma vaga para a terceira – e última fase preliminar – e chegar à fase de grupos, os comandados de Abel Braga terão pela frente oito desafios na Taça Guanabara.

A equipe principal do Fluminense se reapresentará das férias no dia 10 de janeiro e fará a pré-temporada no CT Carlos Castilho. O Campeonato Carioca será tratado pelo Tricolor como uma espécie de laboratório, onde a preparação para os jogos da Libertadores será o principal objetivo. A expectativa é de que a competição impulsione o elenco a ganhar corpo mais rápido. Sendo assim, as sessões de treinamentos, juntamente aos jogos, serão peça chave para que a equipe de Abel Braga se entrose e conheça o novo esquema proposto pelo treinador. Além disso, o alto número de partidas será importante para o processo de ambientação das novas contratações feitas pelo clube.
Até a disputa do jogo de ida pela segunda fase da Pré-Libertadores, e como dito, o Flu entrará em campo em oito oportunidades – todos pela Taça Guanabara. O Tricolor fará sua estreia na competição contra o Bangu no dia 26 de janeiro. Na sequência, terá pela frente o Madureira, entre os dias 29 e 30 e o Audax-RJ, entre os dias 2 e 3 de fevereiro. Os primeiros grandes desafios acontecerão entre os dias 5 e 6 de fevereiro, primeiro contra o Flamengo e entre os dias 9 e 10, contra o Botafogo. Entrando na reta final de preparação para o duelo frente ao Millonarios, o Flu terá a Portuguesa, o Nova Iguaçu e o Volta Redonda, este último, entre os dias 19 e 20 de fevereiro.
